Rachel BermanRachel Berman
University of Cincinnati
Rachel is going into her senior year at the University of Cincinnati double majoring in Political Science and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. Rachel was born and raised in Cincinnati and graduated from Walnut Hills High School. At UC she has previously been President of McMicken Student Ambassadors and is the current President of the Political Science Student Association and Model UN team. Rachel is also involved with the Racial Awareness Program (RAPP) and has previously served in Student Government. She is also an Honors Scholar and a Cincinnatus Scholar. Rachel plans on graduating next year and attending law school.

Dan BrownDan Brown
Miami University
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Dan Brown is a recent graduate from Miami University with an undergraduate degree in Public Administration. Dan selected the Office of Budget and Evaluation to obtain background knowledge in the public budgeting process after a spiked interest from his undergraduate curriculum. Dan hopes to apply his education and experience with the City of Cincinnati toward a career of public service. His hope is to better understand the daily functions of local government and to be able to narrow his desires between public, private, and not-for-profit employment. Time spent with the City’s Budget office will undoubtedly help steer Dan’s broad interests into a more narrow and rewarding career path.



Pat Feghali Pat Feghali
University of Cincinnati
Patricia Feghali is currently getting a Master of Community Planning degree at the University of Cincinnati with a concentration in Economic Development. She received a BA from Columbia University in American Studies and got a JD from the University of Minnesota. She was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2007 and worked for the Ohio Justice and Policy Center as a staff attorney before going back to school. She hopes to remain in Cincinnati and play a part in making her hometown one of the most desirable places in the country to live and work.


Emily GilbrideEmily Gilbride
Xavier University
Originally from Massillon, Ohio, Emily Gilbride is an undergraduate student at Xavier University. She is majoring in the Philosophy, Politics, and the Public Program as well as pursuing minors in Political Science and Spanish. She is excited to be living in and exploring Cincinnati’s unique neighborhoods and businesses. As an intern in the City’s Department of Community Development, Emily hopes to learn more about urban development and how local government functions as she considers different career paths to pursue following graduation.


Emily LewisEmily Lewis
Northern Kentucky University
Emily Lewis was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati. After graduating from Walnut Hills High School in 2007, she attended Catawba College (Salisbury, NC) and graduated Cum Laude in 2010 with a B.A. in Political Science. Emily is currently a second year graduate student of Northern Kentucky University’s Master of Public Administration program. She is interning in the Office of the City Manager where she writes press releases, attends press conferences and meetings, and creates presentations, among other projects. She hopes this internship will provide her with a strong foundation for the beginning of a long career in public service.
