Nicholas BirckNicholas Birck
University of Cincinnati
A Cincinnati native, Nicholas Birck recently completed his first year in the Master of Community Planning program at the University of Cincinnati. Nicholas received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in ancient history and Greek classics, after which he obtained his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. A published author on urban planning and infrastructure and an attorney in Ohio and Illinois, Nicholas is eager to utilize his experiences with the City Manager's Office to further his professional and academic career goals.

Daniel BowerDaniel Bower
Miami University
A native of Dayton, Dan is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Public Administration at Miami University with a minor in Spanish. Dan is currently working at the Department of Community Planning where he is combining his educational and professional experiences to assist the department in its efforts to enhance the communities of Cincinnati. After graduation in the Spring of 2010, Dan would like to work for a housing or economic development department at the state, county, or city level.



Sakshi MehtaSakshi Mehta
University of Cincinnati
Sakshi Mehta recently completed her first year of the Master of Community Planning program with a focus on Physical Planning and Geographic Information Systems. Sakshi has an undergraduate degree in Economics and database design from New Delhi, India and has previously worked as a GIS consultant for Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Division of Transportation System Development. In line with her career and academic goals and her professional experience at DOT, Sakshi intends to enter into a Planning and GIS focused role in the public sector upon culmination of this program at UC.


Katherine MonasterioKatherine Monasterio
Xavier University
Katherine Monasterio is a senior at Xavier University with a double major in Political Science and the Philosophy, Politics, and the Public Program. After spending last summer working in Washington, she is thrilled to be working in Cincinnati with the Mayor's Office. She hopes to learn more about local government and how it functions as she considers different career paths.


Erzsi SlederErzsi Sleder
Miami University
Erzsi Sleder, a native of Louisville, KY, majored in Political Science in her undergraduate work at Northern Kentucky University. She is currently finishing up her Masters in Political Science at Miami University of Ohio, with a concentration in Public Administration. From interning in the City's Office of Budget and Evaluation, she hopes to gain valuable experience in budget planning and coordination that will contribute to a possible future career in state and local government.


Deanna WattsDeanna Watts
Miami University
Deanna Watts is a third-year PhD student in Political Science specializing in American Politics and Public Administration at Miami University. She received her Master's degree in Political Science from Miami University in 2008. While at Miami, Deanna has served as a research assistant for the Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs in which she worked on a variety of projects for local communities in southwest Ohio. Deanna hopes her experience with the City of Cincinnati's Human Resource Department will contribute to her future career in human resource management.
