Purpose: To provide young adults, age 18-30 with 10-month apprenticeships at local non-profit organizations around the city, as well as providing an intensive leadership development program.

Purpose: To bring nationally prominent thought leaders in fields related to local or regional government to Miami University to speak with students, faculty, media, and the public, in order to provide an opportunity to learn about innovative approaches to local government, and to stimulate interest in career opportunities in municipal and government service.

Purpose: To provide a local college student with a three-month internship in the Hamilton County office of Budget and Strategic Initiatives.

Purpose: To support the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project in identifying wrongly imprisoned inmates and obtaining their release through litigation, as well as working to minimize wrongful convictions by reforming the criminal justice system.

Purpose: To support two guest speakers to discuss contemporary issues related to local government.
$15,000 to Citizens for Civic Renewal (CCR)
Purpose: To undertake a strategic action agenda for tackling the problems identified in the 2004 Cincinnati Metropatterns report, focusing on government reform and transportation strategies to improve the Cincinnati region.
$3,500 to Applied Information Resources, Inc. (AIR)
Purpose: To support a research project undertaken by a University of Cincinnati law student to identify the influence of partisan forces on the judicial selection process.
$6,500 to Invest in Neighborhoods
Purpose: To support an annual Neighborhood Summit to foster dialogue between community councils, business leaders, political leaders, City departments, and citizens.
$3,800 to Invest in Neighborhoods
Purpose: To educate community council volunteers in the benefits of increasing voter registration and turnout in their neighborhoods; and to provide volunteers with strategies for increasing the vote, undertaking demonstrations of new voting machines, and establishing joint candidate forums.

Purpose: To support LWV in their Know Your Ohio Government Education Initiative, which provides citizens with information regarding how laws are passed, how to write their representatives, the importance of open meetings and citizen participation, and how local township governments work.

Purpose: To support a public administration internship in Anderson Township, filled by a local graduate or undergraduate student.

$25,000 to Cincinnati Public Radio- WVXU
Purpose: To support the continuation of WVXU radio news programs' in depth exploration and coverage of local government issues and events by six highly experienced news professionals.
$750 to the Women's City Club
Purpose: To bring together concerned citizens, organizational staff, and youth to talk about the causes of youth violence, build working relationships, and organize actions around shared interests and values.
$20,000 to Citizens for Civic Renewal
Purpose: To promote city-county collaboration in the short-term, and to develop a comprehensive, long-term strategy for mounting a successful campaign for some form of merger between the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

Purpose: To plan an annual public administration awards banquet to honor achievements among public sector professionals.
