$16,500 - to WVXU/Xavier University.
Purpose: To continue to provide comprehensive local government news coverage.

$2,000 - to Woman's City Club of Greater Cincinnati.
Purpose: Women's workshop will lead participants through a process to develop a personal mission statement for both life and work, a vision statement, and an action plan that is in alignment with one's gift and talents. This will help women of all races and socio-economic backgrounds to gain important skills and knowledge to help them to be effective leaders in their communities.

$3,000 - to CISE (Catholic Inner-City Education Fund).
Purpose: CISE Community Civics Summer Program gives students from urban neighborhoods a chance to experience how the government works and helps them to understand their personal responsibilities as citizens.

$5,000 - to YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Purpose: To bring the workings of city government alive to students from twenty-two area high schools in a series of workshops.

$605 - to League of Woman Voters.
Purpose: Public forum held on May 4, 1999, to propose change in the City of Cincinnati Charter to obtain the lead role in hiring and removal of the city manager, have veto over council legislation, and make the appointment and approval of council committee chairs and vice-mayor without consent of council.

$750 - to Public Service Recognition - Cincinnati.
Purpose: Annual event: "A Day On Fountain Square" an annual awards ceremony for Public Service Recognition Week. 60 government employees in the Greater Cincinnati Area will be recognized for contributions to public service.

$25,000 - to Citizens for Civic Renewal.
Purpose: Funding for Citizens for Civic Renewal to maintain its current staffing arrangement with the goals of promoting outreach and membership; facilitating CCR's board, meetings; synthesizing information for citizens on public issues, and serving as a resource.

$5,000 - to Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati.
Purpose: Training program to address full range skills needed to successfully develop and maintain community garden and greenspace projects.

$25,000 - to Applied Information Resources.
Purpose: To conduct focus groups and organizational surveys on the issue of campaign finance reform.

$5,000 - to LOWV Education Fund.
Purpose: Funding for League of Women Voters education fund to educate the people on the value of voting and produce the informational pieces as tools and to hire a person living in the county to serve as Outreach Coordinator.

$3,000 - to GCC-ASPA.
Purpose: Funding for expenses associated with soliciting and selecting outstanding public administrators to be honored at their 16th Annual Public Administrator of the Year Awards Banquet.

$5,600 - to University of Cincinnati Foundation.
Purpose: To encourage highly qualified and motivated high school students from diverse backgrounds to consider urban planning as a career through a series of summer seminars.

$5,000 - to H.O.M.E.
Purpose: To offer mediation as an alternative to litigation and administrative complaints to HOME clients who allege discrimination by apartment owners and/or their representatives.

$4,000 - U.C. Foundation.
Purpose: MPA Program will carefully select a list of the region's top public administrators to attend a focus group. They will provide the focus group facilitator with much needed information on development of a program.

$10,000 - to Public Allies Cincinnati.
Purpose: To develop a new generation of leaders, grounded with self awareness, commitment to community, an appreciation for our societies diversity, and the skills to create, improve and expand vital services offered by community based organizations and local government entities.

$4,000 - to U.C. Foundation.
Purpose: Funding for the University of Cincinnati to provide two $2,000 Public Administration scholarships to part-time in-career students who are not eligible for financial aid.

$35,000 - to University of Cincinnati.
Purpose: Funding for the University of Cincinnati to stabilize the MPA program, hire a tenure track assistant and an associate professor/program director to lead the program.

Other Grants (partial list)

$10,000 - to Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
Purpose: Development of statewide organization of first suburbs to educate public officials and administrators on the needs for maintenance and redevelopment of mature communities.

$3,000 - to the City of Cincinnati.
Purpose: Provide the City Solicitor with the opportunity to participate in a nationally recognized program for state and local executives at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

$7,600 - to Hamilton County Treasurer.
Purpose: Funding of a paid, part-time staff person to continue professional operation.
